Roof Mount DVD Player and Other Types of Car Entertainment Systems

Want to make road trips with your family more bearable? Then you should consider installing a portable DVD player in your car. When it comes to mobile entertainment systems, you have a wide range of options to choose from, from the in-dash player to the roof mount DVD player. Wondering which of them should you choose? Here's a quick guide to help you out.

Types of Car DVD Players
The following are four of the most popular types of DVD players that you can install in your car:

1. Flip-Down DVD Players
Also known as roof mounted DVD players, flip-down DVD players are basically attached to the roof of the car in front of the passenger seats. They are usually seen on vans and minivans, where there are lots of interior space. The positioning of this particular type of DVD player is a huge advantage as it allows the people at the back of the vehicle to see the screen without straining their neck and feeling uncomfortable.

2. Headrest DVD Players
A car headrest DVD player, on the other hand, is installed in the back of the driver's and front passenger's headrest. One advantage of having this DVD player is that it prevents the driver from being distracted. Second is that it provides people at the backseat with a great viewing experience because they don't have to twist their necks at an awkward angle just to see the screen clearly. Another advantage is that this type of portable DVD player is an excellent space-saver.

3. In-Dash DVD Players
An in-dash DVD player makes a great choice for car owners whose vehicles lack interior space. As the name implies, this type of DVD player is installed in the dash of the car. If you have a reversing camera, you can hook it up with the in-dash DVD player. There are two types of in-dash car DVD players: the single DIN system and the double DIN system.

The typical double DIN system has a screen, player, and amplifier, which is usually installed into the dashboard of the car. The single DIN system is basically the same as a double DIN player but it only takes up half the space.

4. Rear view Mirror DVD Player
A rear view mirror DVD player is easy to install because all you have to do is attach it the screen to the rear view mirror of the car. The screen can also be turned off so only the mirror will remain visible. However, the downside of this type of DVD player is that it can be distracting for the driver when they look at the mirror.
